ReplyDelete1. It was very interesting that they some communities look down upon inter-caste marriages.
2. It was surprising that some people were killed because of who they were in love with.
3. It was shocking that some peoples' own family members killed eachother because they were so ashamed of them.
4. It is interesting that they bathe in the Ganges river, since it is so gross.
5. It is fascinating that Hinduism does not have one single creator.

ReplyDelete1: I found it interesting that the Hindus have more than one holy book unlike Christians or Muslims only have one.
2: It is suprising that the in some towns in India they would kill their sons and daughters for Inter-Caste relationships.
3: It was depresing that the Hindus would treat a lower caste level like the Untouchables so bladly just because their place in a religion.
4: It was amazing that they made a 200,000 line poem which must of take generations to make.
5: I found it interesting that they bathed in the Ganged River even though it had sewer pipes running into it and they didn't get sick.
Question Answer for "Why were they?"
They were treated so badly because the Hindus belive that they did bad in another life so they were punished in the life they were living so they wanted to help punish them and they thoght of them as lesser people.

How many holy books are there in the Hindu religion?
Miller- I agree that it is amazing that they made such a long poem. I can't believe they would work so hard on that because it took so long and had numerous authors. How would they decide who would write it?

ReplyDelete1:The gouvernment has punished people for killing and descrimination of lower caste people.
2:They often do not get sick from bathing in the Ganges because over the years they build up immunities from the sicknesses in the river.
miller - for the ganges river i also dont see how they dont get sick when that water is nasty and they drink it? i dont get it
ReplyDeleteseamus n- I also found it fascinatiing that the priests were the highest in the castes, because over time things have changed so much. Now, the government has power over the priests.

ReplyDelete-I thought the whole cast system was very interesting.
-I found it shocking that some towns in India would kill there own family sense they were ashamed that they fell in love with someone of another caste.
-It was fascinating that they made a 200,000 thousand line poem
-Its amazing that they bathe in the Ganges river, they find it purifies them but it is actually very dirty and used for many other things like bathing and drinking water.
-Its interesting that Hinduism has no single creator.
