The two most interestings facts about each religion are:1)Hindus believe in one god. Hindus believe in reincarnation.

3)Jews believe in one god. Jews celebrate Yom Kippur(Day of atonement). which is the most important holiday of the Jewish year.
4)Christians believe in one god. They also believe that god died for their sins.
5)Muslims believe that there no god but Allha. Muslims must pray 5 times a day and they have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once during there lives.

ReplyDeleteChristianity: Christians only believe in one God. Easter and Christmas are their most important holidays.
Juduism: Jews gather on Saturdays. Some Jews only eat Kosher food.
Hindu's: Celebrate a lot of different holidays. Divali is their most important Hindu holiday.
Muslims: Muslims pray 5 times a day. Each time Muslims pray they face Mecca.
Buddhists: Siddharta Gautama was known as the Buddha. Buddist have holidays all year long.

Why do Muslims treat woman so poorly?
G - I don't think there is any way to know when Jesus will appear again.

2)Protestants do not take the Pope as the ultimate authority.
Islam
1)They must pray five times a day which seems ridiculous.
2)There are laws on what you can or can't eat which surprises me.
Judaism
1)Jews gather on Saturdays instead of Sundays, i did not know that.
2)Jews gather in Synagogues not temples.
Hinduism
1)Hinduism started when two cultures blended and i think that happened when the Roman empire conquered the Greek empire.
2)The highest person in the caste system were the most religious people.
Buddhism
1)I found that the way Buddhism was started was by the Buddha going through tremendous hardships, starving himself etc.
2)Buddhists even believe that a tree, the Bodhi tree is sacred. That surprised me.
Questions
I still don't understand how Hindus believe that their religion is monotheistic.

ReplyDelete1) I thought it was interesting that their ultimate goal in life is to achieve Moksha. Moksha is when they finish reincarnating and become one with Brahman.
2) It was interesting that they also believe in the Caste System, which ranks people in four groups when they are first born ( Kshatriyas, Vaisvas, Sudras, and the Untouchables).
Judaism-
1) It was interesting thatthey believe in the Ten Commandments like the religion Christianity and they also believe in the covenant which was made between Abraham and God
2)They have a holy book that consists of six other books in it. The other books are Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Leviticus, Genesis, and Talmud
Christianity-
1) It is interesting when Jesus was born there was a star that showed everybody that the new Messiah was born. Jesus was born in Bethlehem in something that was like a stable. He was born in Bethlehem because they were running away from King Herod who wanted to kill Jesus.
2)I thought it was interesting that people put up lights during Christmas to symbolize the star that was shown when Jesus was born.
Buddhism-
1) It was interesting when Siddhartha saw a lot of people suffering from illness and other causes and he wanted to find the cure so he left his wife and kid and started to meditate under a Bodhi tree. When he was meditating he conquered the devil and that was when Buddhism was founded.
2) It is interesting that there are two types of Buddhists. They are the Therevada Buddhists and the Mahayana Buddhist and both of those branches have a lot of different beliefs.
Islam-
1) I thought it was interesting that Muslims face Mecca while praying. They face Mecca while praying because it is the birthplace of the Prophet.
2) It is interesting that Muslims only believe in one god, which is like some of the other religions. Their God is Allah.
Questions:
Iss it okay for some Hindus to not eat Kosher?
Grace-It's okay for some Hindus to not eat Kosher because it doesn't have to do anything with the religion.

ReplyDeleteHINDUISM:it is important to know that Hindus pray in household shrines/Hindus also used to believe in the caste system,most modern Hindus do not now.
BUDDHISM: it is interesting how a prince named Siddhartha saw suffering and ill people for the first time in 20s and then went out to find a cure./ it is interesting that the Bodhi tree that Siddartha meditated under is now sacred.
JUDAISM: it is interesting that most Jewish people eat kosher, which is not eating dairy and meat together./ it is interesting that the Jewish holy day of the week is on a Saturday.
CHRISTIANITY: I think it is interesting that Angel Gabriel told Mary that she would give birth to the messiah./ Christians believe one God, their holy day is also Sunday.
ISLAM: it is shocking that Muslims pray five times a day facing mecca./ it is also interesting that a lot of Muslims believe women should cover there body in public.

Hinduism- They believe in Reincarnation into becoming an avatar. They have a caste system that puts and keeps people in sections. In that section you can only marry in.
ReplyDeleteBuddhism- Siddhartha was sheltered from sickness and poverty. When the queen died he was free to go outside. he suffered from watching people suffer. Siddhartha also does not agree with the caste system.
Judaism- Some people eat Kosher. Kosher food is not having meat and dairy together in one.Like a cheeseburger. Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah.
Christianity- Presents that people give and receive represent the three wise men. The three wise men went to find Jesus. They gave him gifts. People who are Christian Catholic have to get Baptized, have to recieve communion, and get Confirmed.
Islam- Muslims face towards Mecca while praying.Allah said that Muslims should take a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime. Women should cover themselves while in public. Muslims have to pray Five times a day.

Buddhism: -goes against almost all of the Hindu traditions.
-believes that Buddha (the founder) was reincarnated many times, but then came back to human.
Christianity: -developed from Judaism, but with some different beliefs.
-Jesus (the founder) was not actually a prophet, and did not act as a few of his followers thought he would.
Judaism: -branches range from very serious and devoted to easy-going and less devoted.
