1)i found it interesting that Islam makes the women cover their hair
ReplyDeletei found it suprising that jews and muslims are said to treat each other with a mutual respect, but they are always fighting each other
i found it shocking how many people like politicians never have studied islam and make assuptions
1) I found it interesting that the media shapes the majority of our opinions on Islam being terrorist even though they really aren't terrorist at all.
ReplyDelete2) There are still many disagreements between Israel and Palestine because Israel took over Palestine as their promise land.
3) Islam is very different with what they believe as they had said in the videos, there are the same amount of versions of Islam as their are followers.
Isaiah, I agree with what you said about Muslims and Jews treating each other with mutual respect, but, they are so many disagreements with each other that they won't say there is one.

3)i found it intereting that muslims get affected when americans or any type of person call their kind a terriost but even though there are some extremist in there religion they dont do anything to stop it.
The three most interesting things I learned were:
ReplyDelete1. There are two branches of Muslims, Sunni and Shi'ite.
2. Muhammad founded Islam.
3. Mecca is the spiritual capital and Medinah is the political capital.
Question: Besides fasting on Ramadan are there any other dietery rules Muslims must follow?
Kayana i also think it is interesting that though many Muslims become upset when they are called terorists very few try to publicly change that stereotye.
ReplyDeleteAlden i also find it interesting that media influences our opinions on Islam so negatively by always showing the bad parts of the Islamic culture and rarely showing the good parts.
ReplyDeletei found it interesting that girls have to wear hajbs on their heads to cover up and that the holiday Ramadan is very important to them and during that period of time they have to fast during sun rise to sunset for 10 to 11 days and that they thought Muhammad was the last prophet.

ReplyDeleteMohammed married Khaddejaaa and then left to find the real meaning life, that lead to the founding of Islam.
Islam means "sumbission to god", Allah
Women are not allowed to leave the house without a male and bieng covered.

-they believe in moses, jesus, abraham, and muhammad
-they belive jesus wasn't crucified and rose from the dead 'cause God wouldn't let that happen, they don't believe jesus was the son of God,but a messenger of God, and they believe Muhammad was the last person God talked through

ReplyDeleteyeah, i think the assumptions come from fear and anger from 9/11 so logic goes out the window but that doesn't make it right to be ignorant and then make comments on the little knowledge you have about it
