ReplyDeleteKosher is the type of food that Jews are allowed to eat . "Kosher" food means food that fits within the rules and regulations of Jewish law under the old testament.
Bat Mitzvah is when a girl becomes an adult and Bar Mitzvah is when a boy becomes an adult in the Jewish religion.

Three things that i thought were interesting about Judaism are...
ReplyDelete1. Jews who are kosher cannot eat dairy and meat together ex. cheeseburger, and cannot eat shellfish.
2. Orthodox Jews take every instruction in the Torah literally.
3. There can be women rabbis in the Reformed branch, but there cannot be any women rabbis in the Orthodox and Conservative branches.
Two questions:
1. Who built the Wailing Wall (where the messiah will appear)?
2. Why do the men and the women worship in separate areas in the synogogue?
Answers:
Jessica-the Arab-Israeli conclict began when the state of Israel was founded; the Palestinian Arabs who lived there believe(d) that the land was holy to them too and they also had a right to the land, not just the Jews.
Grace-Judaism was not founded in 1947, the state of Israel was founded in 1947
Mike- most Jews celebrate Hannukah by lighting the menorah (one candlle per night), exchanging presents, going the synogogue to worship, and eating fried foods.
Three things I thought were interesting about Judaism are..

ReplyDeleteKendall,Jews don't believe that Jesus was the Messiah because when the people arrested Jesus he didn't use his great power to prove to the Jewish people that he was the Messiah so that's why Jews don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

ReplyDeleteThe three things I found interesting about Judaism is how Herod had all those baby boys killed because he thought he would lose his throne.
ReplyDeleteAlso, how patient and faithful the Jewish people are to wait so long for a Messiah.
The third was how Moses parted the sea to lead the people to freedom from Egypt.
Passover commemorates the "passing over" of the Angel of Death when the oldest child of each Egyptian family was killed. If the Angel of Death saw the blood of the lamb on the door of the Jewish home he would passover them and not harm anyone.
