1 Key Concepts: One key concept I cannot find the answer to is why did so many Jews doubt that Jesus was the Messiah?

2)Protestant Jews believe that the body and bread is only symbolic.
3)Christian Orthodox came out of Greece.
I don't know why Paul converted.

ReplyDeleteJews doubted that Jesus was the messiah because many people thought that the messiah wasn't going to be divine. Also they thought that the messiah would liberate them from the Romans.

2. Jesus was baptized by his cousin, John the Baptist.
3. Jesus wasn't a Christian, he was a Jew.
I don't really understand why Peter betrayed Jesus considering that Jesus put a lot of trust into Peter. (gave him the Keys of Heaven)
Christian K.: Paul was originally Saul of Tarsus. He was very cruel and persecuted the Jews. One day, he went suddenly blind and heard the voice of the Divine saying, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting my people?" In addition, he saw the ressurected Jesus. He then converted because he believed that Jesus was really the messiah. (CW#21 question 45)
G: Andrew was a fisherman and the older brother of Peter. He was one of the original 12 apostles.

ReplyDelete1. Mary Magdelene was the first oone to see jesus after he came back to life, yet she was not one of the 12 apostles.
2. The 12 Apostles had believed in Jesus's miracles, which included him bringing a girl back to life, but they did not believe he himself could come back to life.
3. To begin with, all 12 of the Apostles lead very normal lives.

ReplyDeleteJess: a lot of Jews doubted Jesus was the Messiah because he did not fulfill most of their expectations, like how he didn't throw out the Roman oppression, and that he did not respect the Sabbath, and he wasn't a prophet.

Victoria lent is in notes #17 and it is celebrated from ash wednesday to easter sunday. They celebrate it because of the fasting and repentance in preparation for Easter. It is celebrated by giving up a favorite food or item for lent and will not eat meat on Fridays.
